Nuclear Winter


Was really great to see everyone. I got to spend time with some great girls, some I already knew and made some new friends. Thanks to the Hard Nox family for taking me into their group today. I loved seeing some of my Crossfit Daytona people, I really miss being with most of them. Was kind of nice competing again although I wasn't feeling like I was very into it today. It was really my first real full week of good training this week. I'm way off whatever ideal comp schedule I'd like to have but the only option is to not participate. Past experience shows that competing and getting your butt kicked is a good motivator. It really sucks feeling out of shape!

Max pull ups: 34 I stopped butterflying too soon and I don't know if I've ever gone for a max rep pull up but I liked it. Felt OK about that event.

1 RM squat snatch: 108# Got stuck right around the normal weight. I still need work on it. I couldn't decide whether to split then squat or squat. I have fun though. Was killer watching Brit blow away her PR. I love watching her lift.

"Grace" 30 clean and jerks for time 93#: 4:01 awful! I't felt really heavy for the jerks. My lungs got real dry and I coughed for about 30 mins after. Now Im worried I may be coming down with something cause I'm coughing up crap as I type. I think my pr is 2:57

EWWWW! I felt like barf the whole time. 50 people to a heat and 5 ropes. The box jumps smoked me. By the end of the day I was beat and ready to get home to Troy.

Huge Thank you to Jess for hanging out and cheering me on, holding all my crap and making sure I didn't lose it. I really appreciate all of your support. Brookie and Rene coming out dressed up to say hi was also the best thing ever, so thanks to them for brightening my life everyday. Also, big FU to Leo for giving the costume prize to some lame ass who put on a hazmat suit for 2 seconds while not only was I the ONLY real costumed participant, but I did WODs in a homemade tutu, full on eye makeup and creepo contact lenses. Way to suck at getting people to dress up for a costume WOD.

Now that that rant is over, I had a great time and I am 100% stoked for the Garage Games. Found out theres lots of awesome people going and so many more that I am so excited to see again or even meet for the first time :)

6.5 mi Trail Run @ Spruce Creek Preserve

Trail runs beat the piss out of road runs. It was pouring rain and kind of chilly so it was great Garage Games training. The terrain is about as similar as it will get in FL. Leaves, roots, puddles, sand and mud, inclines and declines on a single track for mt bikes. GA has much more elevation gain and is much more slippery with the rocks and water involved but the distance was similar to last years run.

She's been either preggo or taking care of babies for 4 years and hasn't done any CF since about a month before baby Cole's due date. She got up on a skinny band and was ripping out sets of 10 pull ups like it was nothin. I am still flipping out. Pic:

Attended Danalynn's Punk Rock Yoga Debut and busted out a little vid for her. Super fun. She's got amazing taste in music and she was able to cater to a very diverse set of people without even trying to. I wish her the best with this. Also, Hollingsworth Gallery was the jam.
Check out the video to see the Lion's Head of death. I almost knocked the only breakable sculpture in the joint right off it's shelf trying to get a good video shot. I checked the placard on the wall next to it to see how expensive my yoga session almost was. Thats when I discovered it was also the only item in the place without a price. Probably the artists favorite piece or something. I'm retarded.

Tempted to record my Wii just dance 2 fun with Troy for workouts but I will refrain. He is getting really good at it though. Im almost as excited about his dance moves as I am about his handstands, strict ring pull up, and full rom push ups. He is getting much more body awareness and it's fun to watch him try and learn the clean and the OHS. I hope he has as much excitement about it when he is older.

Kipped the HSPU. First time I have been able to do them full ROM since the disaster at regionals. Didn't have many in me but I fought them and I was in zero pain. My wrist even came through for me kind of.  Brought back sad memories though. So frustrating. Squat snatch was almost PR today which is nuts. I guess rest really is good for you. My attempt at 115# was better than its ever been. Had I not been tired I think I could have landed it. Hopefully for Nuclear winter?








As for EOBCF, I am looking daily for a location. I've looked at a few potential spots and been back to the drawing board a lot trying to see how I can financially make a lease work and if so how small of a space can I work with for the time being to get the ball rolling. I'm confident the right space is out there somewhere. I'm pulling out my patience. All that really matters is the crew is making gains every day, and nothing makes me happier.

6 mile run/walk/vomit

WTF. New year?! New luck please!? Had lots of champagne on New Years eve night and thought that I had a hangover with the upset stomach on new years day. But when I was still feeling gross at 6pm I got worried. Agreed to run 8 miles with Stacey today and woke up thinking it was a bad idea. First few miles I felt a little shaky, mile three I had to stop to throw up and found a park bathroom. Major headache started in probably from dehydration but I was already 3 miles in and I didn't want to completely ruin Stacey's run.  By mile 5 I had to stop to walk and was hunched over with cramps. :(
